Compagnie de Provence recently launched its very first moisturizing cream, made with active ingredients carefully selected from the heart of Provence.

In 2019, new products joined the face care range, and a collection designed to fight the first signs of ageing was launched. This collection combines the anti-ageing benefits of antioxidant fig with the moisturizing and softening properties of botanical oils, to leave skin feeling smoother, hydrated, and protected against environmental aggressors.

All our formulas are developed and tested in partnership with the group's Research & Development laboratories. They promise to be effective, to delight the senses, and to offer moments of pure pleasure. The crème de la crème of skincare!

In 2017, our iconic Extra Pur collection revealed a new look, thanks to a partnership with designer Stephan Muntaner, and new formulas !

At the heart of all the formulas lies a precious trio of botanical oils: olive oil from the Château Virant estate, where the Cheylan family has been producing an exceptional olive oil for several generations; sweet almond oil from the Valensole plateau; and grapeseed oil from France. Compagnie de Provence has always chosen to use the finest oils in its formulas. For almost 30 years, it has been building up solid expertise in cosmetic products made with plant oils rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids. Whenever we can, we work with partners in the region, not only for all the obvious good reasons, but also because it's a nicer way to work. It's like we're one big family!

In 2013, the company joined forces with an Italian group specialized in cosmetic research and development. This enabled Compagnie de Provence to accelerate its own development while meeting the demand for high-quality, innovative products.

We develop all our formulas in partnership with the group's Research & Development laboratories, so we can keep on improving the effectiveness and sensorial qualities of our products.

All our products are tested under dermatological supervision, within the framework of clinical studies conducted in our laboratories. These involve carrying out skin tolerance tests and verifying product performance.

Our two friends didn’t stop there… In 1999, Compagnie de Provence made an innovative move and introduced the very first liquid version of the Marseille soap. Just like the cube of soap, it's made from vegetable oils in a cauldron, in accordance with the traditional method.

Held in an ultra-stylish glass pump bottle that's as beautiful as it is practical, this groundbreaking product propelled the brand onto the international stage and underlined the modernity that has always been at its heart.

Two friends came up with a brilliant idea. Aware that the traditional Marseille soap cube held an important place in the cultural heritage of Provence, they decided to share this local treasure with people from all over the world.

Inspired by the countless benefits of this iconic soap, Compagnie de Provence has been selling products enriched with plant oils since its earliest days. Its formulas are simple, natural and effective, and provide solutions for all your everyday needs.

Natural formulas

Exceptional vegetable oils at the heart of our formulas
Over the years, La Compagnie de Provence has forged close links with local producers, in search of high-quality ingredients to offer the essence of Provence in bottles.

Olive oil

The olive oil used in our products is sourced at Lançon de Provence in an olive grove of nearly 37 hectares in one of the largest producers of olive oil in France, Château Virant.

Olive oil, Château Virant, Cheylan Family

This oil is extracted from the typically Provencal olives by the names of Aglandau, Salonenque, Verdale and Grossane, harvested every year between October and December.

Sweet almond

Our sweet almond oil is sourced in Provence. For over 30 years, the Schultz family – one of the leaders in almond cultivation – has been maintaining an orchard of over 15,000 almond trees of the Lauranne and Ferragnès varieties.

The oil is extracted by cold pressing, then filtered to obtain an oil of the highest quality. Rich in fatty acids, sweet almond oil helps to soften, moisturise and nourish.
Grasse World capital of perfume

The perfumes that make up our products are imagined and created in Grasse by master perfumers.

For Compagnie de Provence, it is particularly important not to use any controversial ingredients in our formulas. That's why 100% of our products are FREE of parabens, mineral oils, aluminium, sodium laureth sulphate and triclosan. Some flexibility is required when removing certain ingredients, as it's still important to retain each product's sensorial qualities. This explains why preservatives may still be used, but always as little as possible.

Provence is a beautiful region, and we know how lucky we are to be surrounded by such breathtaking landscapes, while also being close to the sea. This appreciation for our natural environment makes us even more aware of our environmental impact, and explains many of our actions. For example, we are working on the biodegradability of our rinse-off products, and you'll be happy to know that our shower gels, liquid dish soaps and Marseille soap cubes are perfectly biodegradable, so they can go back into nature without leaving a trace! We design products that are seriously good, but don't take themselves too seriously!
That's the promise of Compagnie de Provence!
Did you know ?
Now it's your turn to give them a new life!
Sustainably designed
Design: Stylish. Elegant. Attractive.
We love beautiful objects,

That's why, for the past 30 years, our iconic 500ml liquid Marseille soap bottle has been made from glass. Not only is glass an infinitely recyclable material, it is also recognized as being the ideal material to preserve the quality of our formulas. We know our formulas are beautiful – and the design of our bottles makes them even more so.

We also provide 1 litre refills, so you can fill your glass bottle with soap over and over again. It's better for the environment – and your wallet! For those of you who prefer bottles that can cope with anything, our iconic bottles are also available in a 300ml format, made from recyclable and unbreakable plastic. We're not perfect, but we are working hard, every day, to get better, which is why we'll soon be offering bottles made from recycled plastic.

Our bottles were not just designed to be beautiful; they were also designed to be practical! As one of the first companies to introduce using a pump bottle for hand soap, we provided a new and easy way for people to wash their hands that also fits in with our modern, busy lifestyle. And because we believe in responsible packaging, our boxes are made with card from sustainably managed forests.
