REDUCING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
At Compagnie de Provence, we're committed to reducing the carbon footprint of our activities every year. As a company based in a beautiful part of France, between the land and sea, and surrounded by nature, we're acutely aware of our environmental impact.
What we've done so far:
cleverly designed packaging
of our packaging is made from glass, so it's perfectly recyclable!
of our packaging is recyclable (glass or PET plastic).
of our product boxes are made with card from sustainably managed forests (FSC® certified) and printed with vegetable inks.
There are no paper leaflets in any of our product boxes.
refill stations
After a successful initial experiment in its factory outlet in Aix-en-Provence (Z.I. Les Milles), La Compagnie de Provence is rolling out its refill offer to its 7 shops in France in spring 2022. It is now possible to refill your favourite liquid soaps.
The aim? To enable consumers to reuse their 495ml La Compagnie de Provence liquid Marseille soap bottles over and over again, and thus avoid having to buy a new bottle. A special refill price is offered (€10 for a 500ml bottle instead of €19.5), to encourage this new way of consuming. In short, savings for our customers, and a gesture for the planet! We hope to extend this offer to other distribution channels in the future.
REDUCING CONSUMPTION OF OFFICE SUPPLIES
REDUCING PACKAGING
In order to reduce the quantity of packaging in the packages on our website, we are working on new box formats, smaller and more suitable. We are also studying a responsible solution, just as effective as bubble wrap, to protect our elegant glass bottles in your packages.
REDUCING CO2
By supporting two days of remote working per week, we estimate that in 2023, CO2 emissions generated by employees travelling to and from work will have been reduced by 5,287 kilos compared with 2019.
Lighting
Our warehouse is lit entirely with LEDs.
REDUCING PLASTIC
Plastic cups are no longer available for employees to use.
OUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS
We intend to strengthen our partnerships with producers and artisans from Provence. It has always been important to us to showcase the know-how of our partners and prioritize short supply chains. Take the example of our Algue Velours Sorbet Face Cream. It's made with felt-alga gathered from the Étang de Thau saltwater lake in the south of France and botanical oils from Provence. The fragrance was created in Grasse and the formula was created in Provence. And finally, the screen printing on the jars is done in St-Rémy-de-Provence, while the boxes are screen printed in the Drôme region.
RECYCLING AND RECYCLED MATERIALS
Our 300ml bottles and our 1L refill bottles are made from 50% recycled RPET (plastic). Of course, they are 100% recyclable! By the end of 2025, all our hand cream tubes will be made from 50% recycled plastic. Where possible, we will continue to favour glass over plastic, like our iconic 500ml glass bottle.
A NEW GENERATION OF ECO-REFILLS
Since 2022, we have been offering 3L eco-refills on 8 different types of liquid Marseille soap. 3 new references were introduced in July 2023. And 80% less plastic thanks to our eco-refills! An ecological, economical and fun solution with its cubi format... refilling your liquid soap is child's play! Other developments are planned, so stay tuned! In 2024, we launched our collection of refillable care toothpastes, which effortlessly reduces your plastic consumption by 70%* thanks to its ultra-light and 100% recyclable refills (*1 180ml refill is equivalent to 2.5 tubes of 'a classic toothpaste).
A CHALLENGE WE SHOULD ALL EMBRACE
It's also important for us to get our partners and distributors on board with our commitments and actions, so that they're adopted on a larger scale!
